Adam Hildebrand's descendants

The following tabulates the known descendants of Adam Hildebrand, for the five generations following his. I have records of subsequent generations of descendants in my branch of the family, available to anyone specifically researching this family. I also have some details of other branches of the family (dating well back) which have not been added to this page as yet.

First Generation

1. Adam HILDEBRAND. Born 12 Jul 1705. Died 12 Dec 1769. He married Anna Katharina MAAS, daughter of Jakob MAAS & Elisabeth HAUB. Born 26 Jul 1707. Died 26 Dec 1779. They had the following children:

i. Bernhard HILDEBRAND
ii. Johann Peter HILDEBRAND; Born 15 Oct 1731. Died 12 May 1761. He married Anna Margaretha SCHIMPF, daughter of George S SCHIMPF, 11 Nov 1760.
iii. Anna Elisabetha HILDEBRAND; Born 21 Feb 1735. Died 21 Apr 1786. She married Christian GERLACH, son of Johann Georg GERLACH, 26 Oct 1763.
2 iv. Johann Jacob HILDEBRAND
v. Johann Georg HILDEBRAND; Born About 1739. Died 22 Dec 1819. He married Catharina FETT, daughter of Johann Peter FETT, 25 Nov 1767.
vi. Johannes HILDEBRAND; Born 15 Jun 1742. Died 15 Oct 1800. He married Anna Dorethea LEMP, daughter of Johannes LEMP & , 13 Nov 1771.

Second Generation

2. Johann Jacob HILDEBRAND. Son of Adam HILDEBRAND & Anna Katharina MAAS. Born 5 Aug 1737. Died 6 May 1786. Occupation Tailor. He married Katharina LEMP, daughter of Johannes LEMP & , 7 Nov 1764. Born 29 Sep 1743. Occupation Midwife After 1786. They had the following children:

i. Johannes HILDEBRAND; Born 9 Mar 1766. Died 15 Nov 1766.
ii. Katharina Elisabetha HILDEBRAND; Born 27 Oct 1767. She married Peter STUDT, son of Henrich STUDT, 25 Aug 1790.
iii. Elisabetha HILDEBRAND; Born 6 Feb 1770. Died 5 Nov 1828. She married Johannes HILDEBRAND, son of Wencel HILDEBRAND, 9 Dec 1795.
iv. Johann Georg HILDEBRAND; Born 24 Oct 1772. Died 28 Jul 1851. He married Anna Margaretha ROMPFF, daughter of Conrad ROMPFF, 22 Jun 1803.
v. Anna Elisabetha HILDEBRAND; Born 18 Oct 1775. Died 9 Jul 1785.

3. Jakob III HILDEBRAND. Son of Johann Jacob HILDEBRAND & Katharina LEMP. Born 9 Oct 1778. Died 25 Jan 1824. He married Katharina HEINTZ, daughter of Konrad HEINTZ & Katharina HAUSER, 26 Nov 1806. Born 28 Aug 1779. Died 22 Aug 1852. They had the following children: i. Bernhard HILDEBRAND; Born 26 Mar 1808. Died 11 Nov 1832. ii. Anna Juliana HILDEBRAND; Born 19 Nov 1810. iii. Katharina HILDEBRAND; Born 20 Nov 1812. 4 iv. Jacob HILDEBRAND v. Katharina Elisabetha HILDEBRAND; Born 2 Feb 1818.

Fourth Generation

4. Jacob HILDEBRAND. Son of Jakob III HILDEBRAND & Katharina HEINTZ. Born 9 Feb 1816 in Niederweisel, Germany. Immigration May 1857 in Melbourne. Died 27 Aug 1870 in Melbourne #7517. Buried Aug 1870 in Melbourne General, Luth C41A. Occupation Wood And Coal Merchant. Death cause Drowning (Yarra River). Naturalised (Victoria) 16 Jan 1862.

He first married Anna Katharina HEINTZ, daughter of Johann Georg HEINTZ & Anna Elisabetha LENZ, 1840 in Niederweisel. Born 1 May 1817. Died 20 May 1856 in Niederweisel. They had the following children:

i. Katharina HILDEBRAND; Born 30 Mar 1841. Died 1 Feb 1843.
ii. Konrad HILDEBRAND; Born 23 Dec 1842. Died 15 May 1843.
iii. Elisabetha HILDEBRAND; Born 16 Jul 1844 in Neiderweisel. She married Richard DAVIS in Castlemaine VIC, #91, where several of the children were born. The family later moved to Adelaide, South Australia, where six more children were born.
iv. Katharina Elisabetha HILDEBRAND; Born 16 Jun 1847. Died 7 Apr 1851.
v. Jakob HILDEBRAND; Born 31 Oct 1849. Died 10 Apr 1851.
vi. Anne Catherine HILDEBRAND; Born 29 Apr 1852. Left Melbourne as a girl in 1866 for New Zealand. She married Charles Notman in 1874 in Dunedin, and died there on 23 April 1901, survived by 3 daughters and 3 sons.
vii. Peter HILDEBRAND; Born 24 Aug 1855. Died 25 Sep 1888 in Melbourne. Buried in Melb General, Luth C41A.

He second married Elizabetha Margaretha ZIEGLER, daughter of Heinrich ZIEGLER & Anna Margaretha ROSENBECKER, 7 Oct 1857 in Melbourne #4497. She was born 29 Nov 1826 in Steinfurth, Germany. Immigration May 1857 in Melbourne. Died 6 Jun 1876 in Melbourne. Buried in Melb General, Luth C41A. (Nee Ziegler, widow of Jakob Hauser. Her marriage to Jakob Hildebrand incorrectly shows her maiden name as Hauser).They had the following children:

Her ex-nuptial child Caroline Lockwood HILDEBRAND was born 1874 in Melbourne N. #10406 and died Feb 1875 in Carlton #3535. Buried in Melb General, Luth C41A.

Caroline married John Francis Knowlden WILLIAMS, son of Thomas Knowlden WILLIAMS & Elizabeth BIRCH, 19 Jul 1875 in Melbourne #2693. He was born 1842 in Liverpool, UK. Died 1910 in San Francisco. Occupation Ships Carpenter. They had the following children:

7. Richard (Reinhard) HILDEBRAND. Son of Jacob HILDEBRAND & Elizabetha Margaretha ZIEGLER. Born 1862 in Melbourne #9741. Died 11 Mar 1936 in Cheltenham, #1944. Buried 13 Mar 1936 in Springvale Necropolis. Occupation Labourer. Death Cause Arteriosclerosis, Hypostatic Pneumonia, Cardiac Failure. Died Melbourne Benevolent Asylum, Cheltenham, at age 73 Spent 43 years in Vic, 30 in Tasmania.

He first married Florence REMINGTON, daughter of Henry REMINGTON & Charlotte BISSETT, 1889 in Melbourne #8242. Born 1871 in Pleasant Ck #4630. Died 1899 in Austin Hospital, Prahran #10906. They had the following child:
